On 11/15/2007, Cody turned 3. We bought "little red hen" book on tape for his class as his birthday gift to his friends. We had a birthday celebration on Nov 17th in our house with Allison, Weiwei, Isabella and their parents. I wanted to record where he was and what he could do at 3 so we wouldn't forget when he is older.

Cody has been doing his Dalcroze Eurhythmics since September. In the first few classes on Saturdays, he didn't want to leave my side. I had to sit down on the floor with him watching other kids dance. Every time Ms. Nadia would take out a big drum with different animals printed on it 10 minutes into the class to show the kids and asked each to pick out a drum stick and an animal that they would like to hit on. Every single time, Cody couldn't resist the temptation of it and had to walk forward to check out the drum and join the group. After maybe 3 or 4 lessons, he could do it without me entering the classroom. On the classes following, he looked forward to his dance lesson each Saturday morning. One question "Do you want to go to your dance class?" is enough to get him to do anything on Saturday morning.

Also Cody started memorizing his books which I read to him. I bought him two books in September at T.J.Max, "I love you" and "Elmo ". We read these two books day after day for a little over a month. He would cover my mouth on every page with his hand and let go after he "read" it. It was amazing how he remembered all the sentences by the pictures since he couldn't read. He also loves playing memory game everyday before bed time. Memory game has been his favorite game for quite sometime now.

Cody's interest in basketball has been decreasing since he was able to make basketball shot with good accuracy. He's been playing basketball with his imaginary friend "Bank" for sometime but now he wants Bank to play baseball with him.

Cody's favorite book at the moment is "Curious George". He likes "George makes Pancake" and "George feeds animals". A few times after I read to him, he is able to tell the story on the selected pages he likes.

Cody's routine: Everyday mom picks up Cody from school after her work. Cody likes running or playing in the basement after dinner. Then Cody comes back to kitchen for snack time. We go upstairs for bath after snack. It is memory game time after bath. Reading time is the last activity before bed. Cody likes to turn on Mozart before bed time and he bobs his head with the music. Cody would say "kids make music". Then Mom rocks Cody into sleep in her rocking chair.

Cody's toilet training: Cody has been doing well in going potty for pee since Mid-July. He still asks for a diaper when he needs to go poop. He doesn't like sitting on Potty partly because he is having a hard time during his bowl movement.
Every time we asked him to sit on potty to poop, he would not sit or poop. We had to step back and just ask him to sit on potty for a little bit and not have to poop on it.

Mom takes Cody to Children's Museum or Science Center on Saturday after his dance class. He likes the slide and puzzles in Children's Museum and Polymer House in GLSC. Sometimes we see Isabella and auntie Juna and uncle Owen in these places. Cody is also pretty happy if he is going with mom alone. Sometimes we go to lunch with Rina , Ryan from his dancing class and their mothers in restaurants. Cody always has a good time with his friends in the restaurants.

Cody likes imitating his brother Daniel a lot. Daniel likes singing raps that teenager likes and Cody is picking it up. He also picks up things here and there from his teacher and friends at school. He would say "oh, yeh; oh, yeh" in a rap tone. He also likes saying "I don't think so..". He asks "Are you OK?" whenever he senses anything might be wrong and would say "Oh, all better now" after he touches the supposedly hurt spot.

Both Mom and Dad think that Cody is quite smart.
